Artist Statement:
I shifted from abstracts in acrylic to more realistic subject matter in oils during Covid, when I had some opportunities to study online with artists I would not have otherwise. I take my plein air kit with me almost everywhere, and paint to understand the sense of the place I am in. I love to capture light and mood, and find the unusual things that make a place special.
