Artist Statement:
Pam discovered a passion for oil painting post-retirement and now devotes the same immersive focus to learning and developing her art. Largely self-taught and inspired by Dutch Golden Age artists and modern masters, Pam paints still lifes and landscapes in a realist style while continuing to explore the expressive potential of brushstrokes on canvas. When her family moved from New York to Vermont, the beauty of the landscape was captivating. Now living in Northern Virginia, maintaining a connection to the natural landscape and broader views is important. Painting plein air with the Loudoun Sketch Club provides an opportunity to combine both passions.
