Anne Stine’s solo exhibition will open at Touchstone Gallery in Washington DC on September 23, 2026. The collection titled “What the Small Things Know” includes 25 abstract encaustic mixed media paintings. Anne’s inspiration for this work is the small ecosystems hidden in the forest understory and under the sea. Reception is Saturday, Sept. 26, 4-7 pm. The exhibit closes Oct. 18. The Gallery is located at 901 New York Ave, Washington DC. |

VICKI BAYOL Artist of the Month Vicki Bayol has been selected as the Visiting Artist of the Month for the month of August. Her entire current collection is hanging there for sale now until August 31st. She also teaches PaintNight classes there every other Tuesday from 5 to 7 pm throughout the year. She also facilitates the Altered Book Art class or social paint/draw class every Tuesday morning from 10 to Noon. |
Jennifer Tallarico is exhibiting two paintings at the Artists In Middleburg juried group exhibit. The theme focuses on our environment, nature's elements exposed. One of her paintings received an Honorable Mention. In addition, Jennifer has a painting at The Art League August juried exhibit, and will be exhibiting at Art at the Mill (9/19-10/4). Exhibits run through August and/or early October variously. |
Huyen MacMichael is teaching a unique pottery surface decoration technique: underglaze painting in the style of Asian bush or ink painting at CIY Pottery in Ashburn, VA on Friday September 11 at 3-6pm. She is also teaching a Bear Jar workshop in time for Fat Bear Week at CIY Pottery in Ashburn on September 26 at 5pm. Registration and details for both workshops are HERE. Additionally, Huyen will have a booth (look for the Mud Hippo sign) at Diagon Alley Market (Harry Potter themed event) at Fabbioli Cellars in Leesburg VA on Saturday September 12 at 11-5pm. |
2026 Oil Painters of America National Salon Exhibition Jill Brabant's painting, Peony Crescendo, has been juried into the 2026 OPA National Salon Exhibition. 112 South Street SE, Suite 200 Leesburg, VA 20175 “Artists & Artisans—15 Portraits,” a collaborative effort with local artists and crafts masters, will be on exhibit August through September. Two of Philip’s black-and-white, non-digital photographic portraits recently won Honorable Mentions in a juried international competition; one is from this project. You can also meet Philip on August 7th at the Visitors Center, in Market Station, Leesburg, VA, during the First Friday event, where he will demonstrate and answer questions about his work. |

US Mission to the United Nations Once again, the US Department of State's Art in Embassies Program has selected the art of Leanne Fink, this time for a special installation at our US Mission to the United Nations in New York City. Leanne is lending eight paintings from her Cradle of Life: The Treasures of Jordan Collection for the duration of the Ambassador's tenure as his spouse is of Jordanian ancestry. The artist states, "Visual art speaks a language that needs no translation. It is my wish that this body of work will uplift those who view it." Leanne's work will be on loan through 2028. |
