Artist Statement:
Nancy Noerpel was born in New Jersey, but has lived in rural Virginia for the past 25 years. Compared with the precision of a technical career, painting with watercolors offers an interesting contrast. The medium can be unpredictable and the challenge is to capture the colors and light that add interest to a composition. Nancy finds inspiration in Loudoun County’s colorful landscapes, interesting buildings and wildlife. She is grateful to live in such a beautiful part of the country. She is a member of the Loudoun Sketch Club and the Virginia Watercolor Society. She has studied with several local watercolor artists and attended workshops in New Mexico, North Carolina and New England.
