Come learn the basics of still life in oil in this 3-hour workshop with Dipali Rabadiya! If you are new to painting, still life is the way to go. In this workshop we will focus on still life fundamentals with interesting subjects. We will work on color mixing with a limited palette to bring out the harmony in your painting. We will also understand warms and cools, complementaries, harmony, edges, shape-quality, variety, simplifying, loosening brushwork, elements of design, elements of light and shadow, the power of suggestion and seeing in terms of mass and shape relationships. There will be a strong emphasis on making your paintings more three-dimensional.
One brushstroke at a time, paint loose with confidence with “Alla prima technique”. Any level is welcome. Any medium welcome.
Bring one or two still life objects to paint.
Registered artists may begin bringing their supplies in and begin setting up their materials at 10:30 am. Dipali's demo will begin at 11:00. Artists may work from a table or an easel. If you bring an easel, please remember to bring a tarp to put under the easel. No brush cleaning in the library sinks. Bring a trash bag to dispose of your trash at home.
