    'Best Use of Light'

Judge, Gavin Glakis, stated his criteria for judging went beyond competent paint handling and depiction of a scene, looking for a message/thought process behind the literal art. The work pictured is titled, 'Dare to be Different'. "I was inspired by a stand of evergreens that shared space near a stone wall with one deciduous tree that was showing its true autumn colors. I had the title in my mind before paint ever touched my panel."
